Knowing that the human body is interconnected, my approach to therapy is to seek to understand your mind, physiology, and psychological and emotional needs to tailor the best treatment plan.
Fun fact: The human brain is the most complex organ in the body. Trauma is stored in the body. For example, your brain can memorize about 1 trillion different scents, all linked to memory and emotion. Want to learn more? Let's work together!

FAQ: Eating Disorders

There are a couple of ways to know if a therapist specializes in eating disorders.
Look for the letters CEDS (βCertified Eating Disorder Specialistβ), meaning the therapist has completed extensive training to specialize the treatment of eating disorders.
Reach out and ask the therapist about their experience in treating eating disorders and their rate of success in treating them. Ask them what βtreatment modalitiesβ they use. If the therapist is a member of an eating disorder association, they are more likely to be informed on the most effective way to treat, coordinate care, and support someone who is struggling with an eating disorder.
What are the βTreatment Modalitiesβ that are most successful when treating eating disorders according to research? Evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (emotion-focused and trauma-informed CBT). CBT: the premise is that you are what you think; distorted thoughts affect your behavior. ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is based on the premise that we do not run away from or try to eradicate the hard, but press into what is hard, accept what aligns with our values, and live with what does not. Knowledge of ERP (Exposure Prevention) for ARFID, but ERP is not suitable for all eating disorders. Family-Based Therapy is helpful for minors and those living with family.

Unique, tailored to your specific needs. Everyone we see is in a different spot, so whether you are aware of your food values, attitudes, and beliefs, have done the work on body image and self-worth and shame or not, we are here to assess where you are in your healing journey and see how we can partner with you as you continue healing.
In general, we use a multidisciplinary approach, meaning that, with your consent, we collaborate with your doctor, psychiatrist, nutritionist, and other specialists to ensure that you thrive in outpatient settings. While we create a treatment plan to optimize your care, we check in session to session to see how you are doing and what you feel comfortable doing. We definitely celebrate little progress and relapses because we know that the journey is intricately beautiful!

Letβs be real, it's FUN! ADHD brains are creative, unique, valuable, yet often misunderstood. As an ADHD Therapist, I help my clients understand their brains (we nerd out on things like Norepinephrine, Dopamine receptors, and top-down and bottom-up brain communication). We reduce stigma one educational and practical session at a time. Depending on your diagnosis and needs, whether it's ADHD inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, or combined, we take a detailed inventory of the needs you have in your life and work on a gradual system to improve areas of deficiency.

Did you know that ADHD brains are incredibly fascinating and creative? ADHD brains are different, and those differences may be deficiencies in one area, but incredible assets in others. There are many amazing individuals in history who are said to have ADHD. Can you take a guess? Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Vincent Van Gogh, Michael Phelps, Will Smith, and many more. ADHD is not a diagnosis of limitation, but an opportunity to understand your brain and learn how to use it for good. In other words, you were given a gift; trying to be βsomeone else's brainβ does not honor your journey. Imagine what beautiful things your brain can do if we learn to love it, understand, and work with it!
